Overview

Andymation is the beginnings of a personal company or a “title” that represents any freelance work I produce. I got the idea when I realized how much I enjoy observing the details of a corporation’s logo and their identity. I decided that anyone who starts up their own company is eventually going to want to market their brand through a video or some form of motion.

Therefore, I wanted to offer a service that “andymates” a company’s identity. You will find some good examples of this below.

The Andymation.com website is still in production but you can follow Andymation on Facebook for the occasional update.

AJC Logo Animation

Summary

This is a personal logo animation I created using Element 3D. The concept behind this took many days of storyboarding. I wanted to somehow reveal the timeline without the viewer realizing what it was until the end. This was achieved by setting up close-up shots and adding texture mapping to give it an interesting metal or stone feel.

Title

Apple Orchard Animation

Summary

I was experimenting with Cinema 4D, and while following a tutorial I learned a lot about how the program works. In the process, I created this simple 3D animation. Some tools featured here include Mograph as well as some additional lighting added in After Effects.

Title

Liquidus Automotive Overview

Summary

Using Adobe After Effects I created this video to explain what the Liquidus Automotive product has to offer potential clients. I really enjoyed designing this because I think the colorful gradients moved smoothly with the glowing dots and other animated layers.

Title

Cab With Me

Summary

Prior to Uber, CabWithMe.com was a startup company that asked me to animate and produce this 1 minute spot. I worked with them to storyboard out each scene and then using AE and PS I animated, edited, and sound mixed the video. I was particularly eager to work on this because it gave me a chance to do some character animation.

Title

Sonostics Logo Animation

Summary

This was a freelance project, which required me to animate the company’s logo. One thing I always try to do before starting a project is ask, “What does your logo mean? How does it relate to what you do as a company?” And then I go from there. I used primarily Photoshop and After Effects.

Title

Voices of Gotham Logo Animation

Summary

Voices of Gotham is a competitive chorus from New York City that specializes in the rich musical tradition of barbershop harmony. As former member (singing Bass) I was one of the Video Editors and Motion Graphic Designers. I am responsible for animating the group’s logo and I have assisted with various marketing efforts.

Title

Voices of Gotham Logo – in 3D

Summary

Recently I decided it was time to turn the Voices of Gotham logo into a 3D animation. This is a beginning stages of that process. Using C4D I carefully matched the animation style above, making sure each note/bar staff moved the same way. You can find more examples of Voices of Gotham content here.

Title

Post University Logo Animation

Summary

While employed at Post University I worked as a Multimedia Content Developer within the Instructional Design department. I animated the school’s logo to be used for marketing materials and course introduction videos. Today, this logo is used in all Post University content – both online and in TV commercials in the Connecticut area.

Title

NYCAP Logo Animation

Summary

As an Associate Producer/Video Editor at University at Albany I regularly animated/edited content for the marketing department. This is one example of a quick logo animation I put together.

Title

PhilaU Online Logo Animation

Summary

Post University allows you to take classes online. It also oversees the online Blackboard system for PhilaU Online. As a Multimedia Content Developer within the Instructional Design department, I quickly put together an animated logo for course introduction videos.

Logo Design

Title

AJC Personal Logo

Summary

What started out as a simple Illustrator file, eventually turned into a full-blown 3D animation. The concept behind this logo is to use a timeline that represents my experience with multimedia and entertainment – whether that be video, animation, audio, graphic design, etc.

Title

Programmatic Video Details Page

Summary

Before it was titled dVDP, I was tasked to design a logo for the “pVDP” product at Liquidus. I wanted to use bright colors and individual pieces that represented content moving around a website. I could see myself animating this logo with pieces of each letter coming together.

Title

Cab With Me Logo

Summary

In addition to animating the video above, I designed the company’s logo. CabWithMe was based out of NYC so I tried to match the look and feel of something you might see on a Subway or in the streets of the city. The yellow and black makes you think of a cab while the line makes you think of a train.

Title

Andymation Logo

Summary

I designed this logo while taking a Web Design class over the summer. I wanted it to have an illustration look, using the ink typeface for the letters. I then added the first thing all animators learn to do – the bouncing ball. I eventually will animate this logo as well.

Title

Susan Cortesi Website Logo

Summary

Susan Cortesi’s interests and experience revolve around painting and sewing. I wanted to find a way to combine the two in a artistic but modern logo. I used this logo design on the header of the portfolio website that I created for her artwork. You can view that here.

Title

Loading Graphic

Summary

This Google inspired loading graphic was animated and designed for an Online Banking client. The final logo is when all the circles come together. Using Airbnb’s Lottie plugin, I was able to export this composition from AE and provide the complex animation as a .json file for the dev team.
